During FY 2016, OLEM currently anticipates issuance of competitive grant solicitations in the following areas:

Office of Brownfields and Land Revitalization

  • FY17 Guidelines for Brownfields Assessment Grants
    EPA-OLEM- OBLR-16-08 - Closing Date: December 22, 2016

    The Small Business Liability Relief and Brownfields Revitalization Act (“Brownfields Law,” P.L. 107-118) requires the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to publish guidance for grants to assess and clean up brownfield sites. EPA’s Brownfields Program provides funds to empower states, communities, tribes, and nonprofits to prevent, inventory, assess, clean up, and reuse brownfield sites. Under these guidelines, EPA is seeking proposals for Assessment Grants only, to provide funds to inventory, characterize, assess, and conduct planning (including cleanup planning) and community involvement related to brownfield sites. If you are interested in requesting funding for Cleanup Grants, please refer to announcement EPA-OLEM-OBLR-16-09 (Cleanup Grant Guidelines) posted separately.

    EPA-OLEM- OBLR-16-09 - Closing Date: December 22, 2016

Under these guidelines, EPA is seeking proposals for Cleanup Grants only to provide funds to carry out cleanup activities at a specific brownfield site owned by the applicant.   • FY17 Environmental Workforce Development and Job Training (EWDJT) Grants
    EPA-OLEM-OBLR-17-01 - Closing Date: February 24, 2017

    This notice announces the availability of funds and solicits proposals from eligible entities, including nonprofit organizations, to deliver Environmental Workforce Development and Job Training programs that recruit, train, and place local, unemployed and under-employed residents with the skills needed to secure full-time employment in the environmental field.
     
  • Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act, Section 128(A) State Implementation Support Grant
    EPA-OLEM-OBLR-17-02 - Closing Date: January 31, 2017

    This notice announces the availability of funds and solicits proposals from nonprofits (including universities). The purpose of the assistance agreement is to fund research, training and technical assistance to promote and stimulate information exchange among State officials managing solid, hazardous and brownfields response programs (response programs), and EPA officials, to jointly resolve Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), Section 128(a) “co-implementor and co-regulator” issues, and identify emerging response program issues that are of interest to States.
     

Office of Brownfields and Land Revitalization

  • CERCLA Research Cooperative Agreement
    EPA-OLEM- OSRTI-16-07 - Closing Date: January 6, 2017 January 20, 2017 (Extended)

    This request for proposals (RFP) solicits proposals from eligible entities to promote and stimulate research for use by state environmental officials to address Superfund policy and implementation issues of importance to states. The project will provide support for state participation in developing tools, procedures and guidance to promote efficient cleanup work by states under the Superfund program.
