As part of the annual process to develop the U.S. Inventory of Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Sinks (GHG Inventory), the EPA has been assessing new data for updates to its estimates for natural gas and petroleum systems in the GHG Inventory. The EPA is considering updates to its estimates for petroleum and natural gas systems in the production, processing, and transmissions and storage segments. Please see memos below for information on the updates under consideration.
EPA held a stakeholder webinar on updates under consideration for the 2017 Inventory of Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Sinks (GHG Inventory) on December 20, 2016 at 2PM EST, and repeated January 4, 2017 at 3PM EST. Slides from the webinar are also posted below.
The EPA is seeking stakeholder feedback on these updates and has highlighted specific requests for feedback in each memo below. The EPA is requesting feedback by the dates below, but will continue to accept and consider information after the deadline as the 2017 GHG Inventory is developed.
For the production and storage segment memos, please provide comments by 1/25/2017.
For the processing segment memo, please provide comments by 2/1/17.
Please send comments and questions to ghginventory@epa.gov.
