This notice proposes establishing an applicable standard of 7.8 pounds per square inch (psi) Reid vapor pressure (RVP) under the federal volatility control program, in the Denver-Boulder-Greeley-Ft. Collins-Loveland, Colorado, 1997 8-hour ozone nonattainment area. This standard would apply during the high ozone season - June 1st to September 15th of each year- beginning in 2010. The standard in Denver, Douglas and Jefferson counties, and portions of Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder and Broomfield counties is currently 7.8 psi RVP. This action would expand the requirement to use 7.8 psi RVP gasoline throughout Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder and Broomfield counties, and into portions of Larimer and Weld counties.
