As of 12/16/16, the site tour is sold out and we are no longer collecting names for the waitlist. If space becomes available, we will contact waitlist registrants to be added to the tour.

Please join SF6 Partner, Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E), on a tour of our San Mateo Substation. The tour will cover safety considerations for the tour, federal and state SF6 compliance requirements as they pertain to Electric Substations. PG&E will provide a tour that will cover the sites Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) as well as SF6 Cylinder weighing. San Mateo Substation is a NERC certified facility so space is limited to 35 participants. The cost for the site tour is $50, and includes lunch. The site tour will take place after the workshop events are complete on January 25.

We have several requirements for attendees of the site tour, based on safety and procedural protocols. Note, you will not be allowed on the site tour without all of these items. Please contact us if you need assistance with the clothing requirements—PG&E may be able to assist with some of these requirements but advanced notice is necessary.

  1. Bring a valid, government issued, ID with you on the tour. Acceptable examples include a Driver’s License or Passport.
  2. Site Tour Clothing Requirements
    • FR coveralls or clothing
    • Protective eyewear
    • Hard hat
    • High-top leather boots
    • Ear Plugs

The site tour is currently at full capacity. If your plans have changed, and you no longer can attend the site tour, please email ElectricPower-SF6@icfi.com so that those on the waiting list can be considered for attendance.
