Description: EPA's National Centers for Environmental Economics and Environmental Research will be sponsoring a 2-day research workshop on Corporate Environmental Behavior and the Effectiveness of Government Interventions (CEB). This workshop, to be held on April 26 and 27 at the Wyndham Washington Hotel, will present research results from EPA Science to Achieve Results (STAR) grants and other projects that will appeal to a broad range of economic, legal, decision science and business management researchers, policy-makers, and practitioners. CEB researchers are investigating the effectiveness of different approaches to environmental management and the circumstances that make each approach work best. Researchers are investigating how ownership, managerial performance, corporate structure, profitability, community activism, and program design affect the success of different approaches to environmental management, including compliance and enforcement, environmental management systems (EMS), information disclosure, and government and industry-led voluntary programs.
