Case Study: Cleanup at the Puma Energy Caribe Site in Puerto Rico

Case study explores the work of an EPA Region 2 enforcement team to integrate several enforcement tools into a package of settlement agreements associated with the sale and cleanup of the Puma Energy Caribe Site and associated gas stations located throughout Puerto Rico. The effort by Region 2 ensured that environmental response action at the site continued without interruption through bankruptcy, new ownership, and redevelopment. Issued June 2014.
