These documents are designed to offer guidance in analytical data evaluation and review generated through their corresponding statement of work (SOW) and are designed to assist the data reviewer in evaluating: (a) whether the analytical data meet the technical and quality control (QC) criteria specified in the SOW, and (b) the usability and extent of bias of any data not meeting these criteria.

These documents contain definitive guidance in areas such as blanks, calibration standards, and instrument performance checks in which performance is fully under a laboratory’s control. General guidance is provided to aid the reviewer in making subjective judgments regarding the use of data that is affected by site conditions and do not meet SOW-specific requirements.
