As EPA works with states, utilities, and other stakeholders to implement the Clean Power Plan, we received requests for information on several subjects. To help states as they consider state plan options and approaches, EPA hosted webinars listed below.

On January 14, 2016, EPA hosted a webinar to discuss how energy efficiency can be used as a compliance measure in the Clean Power Plan, and what the rule says about EM&V.

Emissions Trading 101
January 11, 2016
On January 11, 2016, EPA provided a basic overview of emissions trading, an explanation of common terms (including budgets, set-asides, etc.), a general description of how mass-based and rate-based trading works, and a discussion of tools and resources. Additional training webinars may be added if there is interest.

Tapping into Energy Efficiency Programming at the State or Local Level
July 16, 2015
EPA provided an overview of the national landscape for energy efficiency programming. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions specific to their state or region. The webinar also highlighted examples of successful energy efficiency programs and discuss national support infrastructure available through the ENERGY STAR program. More than 700 utilities and other efficiency programs servicing 85% of U.S. households use ENERGY STAR in their local programs.

Clean Power Plan: Implementation Update
February 24, 2015
EPA provided an update to states, tribes, and territories on information about implementing the Clean Power Plan. The webinar offered states, tribes, and territories an early look at EPA’s preliminary thinking on tools it plans to develop to assist states, tribes, and territories with implementing the Clean Power Plan. During the webinar, EPA collected questions and suggestions from participants regarding its implementation update and preliminary list of implementation tools.
