CEIP Stakeholder Calls - November 2015

Invitation to participate in an EPA stakeholder call on the Clean Energy Incentive Program

Dear Colleague:

We are pleased to invite you to participate in a stakeholder call to gather your input and ideas about the Clean Energy Incentive Program (CEIP) – a Clean Power Plan program designed to provide additional incentives for early investments in zero-emitting wind or solar power projects as well as in energy efficiency measures in low-income communities.

EPA is hosting four calls to gather input from key stakeholders in preparation for further action that would specify the design and implementation details of the CEIP.  We invite participants to join the call with a focus that best suits their interests.  Attached below, please find a list of questions and related issues about which EPA is seeking input and ideas.

During each call, EPA will provide a brief overview of the Clean Energy Incentive Program and then will invite participants to respond to the questions.  In an effort to hear from all those who wish to speak, EPA will give participants up to three minutes to present their remarks.

Under the leadership of President Obama, EPA issued the Clean Power Plan, a historic step to fight climate change.  The Clean Power Plan will reduce carbon pollution from power plants, the nation’s largest source, while maintaining energy reliability and affordability.  EPA also issued final Carbon Pollution Standards for new, modified, and reconstructed power plants, and proposed a Federal Plan and model rules to assist states in implementing the Clean Power Plan.

We look forward to your participation and please extend this invite to your organization’s leadership.  Information about the Clean Power Plan can be found on our website: www.epa.gov/cleanpowerplan.  Information about the Clean Energy Incentive Program is available at:  http://www2.epa.gov/cleanpowerplan/fact-sheet-clean-energy-incentive-program
