Durham, NC.

What brought you to EPA?

I was drawn to the agency's mission. I was fortunate to get a job offer.

What type of work do you do at EPA?

I lead the division responsible for planning, developing, and directing the overall procurement process for most of EPA's program offices. I manage a large staff of contracting professionals responsible for highly specialized purchases of materials, supplies, and services. These specialized procurements include information technology hardware and software, and environmental professional services. These are essential for us achieving our mission of protecting human health and the environment.

What is your highest level of education? What was your major?

I have a masters in public administration. I majored in English and speech communication.

What message would you like to send other Black/African Americans who are considering college or a career in environmental protection?

Education is a very important factor in determining where you want to be in today's society. Make every effort to obtain a higher level of education.
