About the Acting Deputy Regional Administrator for EPA Region 4 (Southeast)
Kenneth Lapierre
Mr. Lapierre is the Assistant Regional Administrator for Region 4. In this role, Ken leads the Office of Policy and Management and advises the Regional Administrator and senior management on national policies involving management, strategic planning, technical and scientific issues, and resource management issues. During his twenty-five year career with EPA, Ken worked as a staff environmental engineer and later as a manager in the Waste Management Division, the RCRA Division, the Air, Pesticides, and Toxics Management Division, and the Office of the Regional Administrator. Prior to joining EPA, Mr. Lapierre served for five years with the active-duty Air Force as an aircraft maintenance officer. Mr. Lapierre recently retired from the Air Force Reserve after 31 years of service as a Brigadier General. He graduated from Norwich University in 1985 and holds Master degrees from Golden Gate University and Georgia State University.
