EPA's P3 Student Design Competition: Where Science and Creative Genius Meet (May 2016)
This year’s USA National Science & Engineering Festival was a huge event. The convention center in downtown Washington, D.C., was buzzing all weekend long with thousands of people coming to see the fascinating gizmos and gadgets on display by various companies and organizations (and to learn about science, of course).

EPA Awards Grants to 38 Student Teams for Innovative Sustainable Projects (February 2016)
EPA awarded 38 People, Prosperity and the Planet (P3) Phase I grants to university student teams for proposed projects to develop new, sustainable products and strategies. P3 Phase I recipients receive up to $15,000 and are eligible to compete for Phase II awards of up to $75,000 to further the project design, implement it in the field, and move it to the marketplace.

Sacramento State Team Lands $15,000 Sustainability Research Grant Exit(February 2016)  
A team of Sacramento State students was awarded a $15,000 grant from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to research and develop its project for the 12th annual People, Prosperity and the Planet (P3) Student Design Competition. The students will present their aquaponics/sustainability design at the USA Science and Engineering Festival in Washington, D.C., in mid-April.

EPA Announces Student Innovation Grants Exit(February 2016)  
From farming bugs for fish food to using organic waste for energy, 38 university projects have been named EPA People, Prosperity and the Planet (P3) grant recipients for the first phase of a national environmental sustainability design competition.

Gonzaga Receives $15,000 EPA Grant to Aid Fire-Torn Okanogan County Residents Exit (February 2016) 
Following the devastation wrought this summer by the Okanogan Complex of five wildfires, the largest in state history, Gonzaga civil engineering Professor Noel Bormann and his team of students have received a $15,000 Environmental Protection Agency grant to help minimize damage from future fires. The grant from the EPA’s People, Planet and Prosperity Program aims to inform the construction of “green buildings” in the wildland-urban interface to enhance fire resistance and sustainability.

University of Kentucky-Paducah Student Team receives Phase I Award (February 2016) 
The Paducah research team from University of Kentucky was awarded $14,994 to further create a low cost method to help reduction in atmospheric pollution by collecting and condensing released chemicals into a useful source known as wood vinegar.

EPA Awards Auburn University with Grants to Develop Innovative Sustainable Projects (February 2016) 
EPA awarded Auburn University in Auburn, Ala. with People, Prosperity and the Planet (P3) grants. Nationally, the grants were awarded to 38 university student teams for proposed projects to develop new, sustainable products and strategies. Each team will receive up to $15,000 for their proposals. Since 2004, the competition has funded more than 600 student team projects nationwide – some leading to start-up companies.

Arkansas Students Receive EPA Grant for Sustainable Project (February 2016)
EPA awards a People, Prosperity and the Planet (P3) grant to University of Arkansas students for their proposed project to develop new, sustainable products and strategies.

Student teams from the University of Kansas, Kansas State University, and the University of Missouri are among the 38 university student teams to receive Phase I grants from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s People, Prosperity and the Planet (P3) program to pursue projects to develop new, sustainable products and strategies.

Students from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill awarded for developing a simple, self-contained low cost and portable test for cholera in drinking water.

EPA awarded a grant to Mississippi State University (MSU) in Starkville, Miss., through the People, Prosperity and the Planet (P3) program. Nationally, the grants were awarded to 38 university student teams for proposed projects to develop new, sustainable products and strategies. Each team will receive up to $15,000 for their proposals.

EPA awarded the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Ga. with a People, Prosperity and the Planet (P3) grants. Nationally, the grants were awarded to 38 university student teams for proposed projects to develop new, sustainable products and strategies. Each team will receive up to $15,000 for their proposals.

EPA Awards Embry-Riddle Aeronautical and the University of Central Florida with Grants to Develop Innovative Sustainable Projects (February 2016)
EPA awarded two universities in Florida with People, Prosperity and the Planet (P3) grants. Nationally, the grants were awarded to 38 university student teams for proposed projects to develop new, sustainable products and strategies. Each team will receive up to $15,000 for their proposals.

U.S. EPA awards UT Student Team $15,000 for recycling project Exit (February 2016)
A group of undergraduate students at the University of Toledo have been awarded a P3 grant proposing to create a community-based garbage collection system called "Greenbox" similarly to the video kiosk Redbox.
